The beach faces southeast; probably most sailable in some variation of south winds, but less in northwest. There is plenty of grass for rigging. With winds from the southeast there can be some good chop here. Sailors will have to be careful of the old pier, and beware of submerged remnants of old pier close to shore approximately 100 yards northeast of the old pier.

Take I-45 South from Houston towards Galveston, exit NASA Road 1 east, and go all the way to Todville Road. Turn left on Todville and follow the bay until you reach the El Jardin subdivision. Turn right on El Jardin which dead ends at a park on the bay.
